Shipping Note: Some items in this kit must ship by truck freight. If you have any questions or concerns about shipping methods, please email us or give us a call.
Notice: In many areas of the country, it is not permitted for an unqualified person to connect grid-interactive electrical equipment to the utility grid. It could result in severe penalties and/or fines. Be sure to check your local electrical code and regulations before installing this system. You may need to hire a licensed electrician in order to pass an electrical inspection.
Note on Panel Mounts: This kit does not come with a mount for the solar panels. The most popular mounts are roof mounts, such as the IronRidge XR rail mount. However, some people prefer a pole mount array. We recommend the universal top of pole mounts from DPW Solar. We also offer tracking mounts and various other mounting options. Please email us or give us a call if you have any questions about mounting options or if you need help configuring a mount for this kit.
This kit is one of the simplest ways to get started with a grid-tie solar system. The design incorporates a small battery bank for basic back up power when the utility grid goes down. It comes with 3,975 watts in solar modules and an Outback Power factory assembled power panel with one VFXR3648A inverter for 60 Hz and 120 Volts AC. Outback inverters can be stacked together for additional power output if you decide to upgrade your system in the future. This kit is designed with four of the Concorde SunXtender sealed AGM deep cycle batteries for a total of 258 Amp-hours at the 24hr rate. This system is not meant for long term off-grid use. The small battery bank is only intended to run critical loads when you lose power. If your grid power goes out frequently, you may need a larger battery bank. We can customize this system to meet your specific needs.
The Outback FLEXpower system comes fully assembled and tested from the Outback factory. The units are built to meet National Electric Code (NEC) standards and designed for ease of installation. FLEXpower FXR systems can be used for both off-grid and grid-tie configurations. The systems have been outfitted with all the necessary wiring, circuit breakers, communications, battery monitoring and PV ground fault protection. All equipment is ETL listed. The FLEXpower ONE FX-R Series is perfect for nearly any type of application: residential and commercial applications including cabins, vacation homes, farm buildings, remote communications sites and back-up power systems, with all necessary components integrated into a compact hang-on-the-wall system with a minimal footprint. The FLEXpower systems are designed for fast installation which cuts down on time and cost. The system comes with a mounting bracket that attaches to your wall, which then allows you to hang the FLEXpower system. This allows you to get up and running very quickly; simply connect the PV input, AC output, and battery connection.
NOTE: You may be interested in an automatic generator start for times when your batteries are getting too low. You can add it to your order and install it yourself or you can contact us if you would like Northern Arizona Wind & Sun to install the AGS into your power panel.
Note: Every solar system installation is different. While this kit contains almost everything you need, you will have to provide some of your own materials. For example, you may want to purchase some wire nuts for splicing wire (you may or may not need to splice wire depending upon your installation). You may also need to upgrade your kilowatt-hour meter or add an additional meter if your local electrical code requires it.
