ProStar 30 Amp, 12/24 Volt Solar Charge Controller

The Morningstar ProStar 30 is commonly used for small to medium off grid and other battery systems, such as backup power supplies. It can be used for any 12 or 24 volt battery system. It will handle up to 30 amps from the solar panels - about 500 watts of panel at 12 volts, 1000 watts at 24 volts.

Morningstar’s series switching provides many advantages compared to shunt controllers. Series regulation reduces FET heating and lowers voltage stress on the power FET’s. A series configuration also improves protection against lightning surges and reduces switching noise. The series design improves charging accuracy. In PWM, series switching becomes self-correcting for temperature and system voltage drops. May be paralleled up to 300 amps.
