Solar
Electric Photo Gallery
A mixed collection of pictures etc. taken over the past 25 years of
some of our installations and other notable events. (adding comments and
descriptions as we get time) |
|
Signature Photo
This
is kind of our signature photo, of an installation we did on an off grid
cabin near Flagstaff, Arizona around 1992. |
Early Project
This
was one of our first solar installs, sometime around 1978, on an off
grid home. At that time solar was around $12 a watt, so for it's time it
was fairly expensive. |

Navajo Reservation, 198?
This
was one of many installations that we have done over the past 20+ years
on the Navajo and Hopi reservations. We lost count a while back, but it
is around 1200 or so, ranging from a small single panel on a hogan, up
to a large grid tie system at one of the special schools. |
Ancient Charge
Controller
This is a Jurassic age charge controller that we found
at a cathodic protection system for a wellhead in North Texas. The rats
seemed to have liked all the heat it gave off in winter also. Needless
to say, efficiency was not the best. |
Portable Panel
This
is not even our picture, we stole from one of our customers, but we
needed to fill in this blank spot. |

Some Kind of Battery
Picture
Not
sure why we put this here, kind of a generic battery bank picture, but
we had the extra space... |

Our Customer Service &
Complaint Department
We have had this picture on our websites for years,
and we get the occasional complaint about how it is in poor taste, which
bothers us a lot, so we may take it off in 15 or 20 years. |
Our 2003 Ad in Lake
Powell Magazine
This ad was a direct slam at the Sierra Club, and
their "plan" to drain Lake Powell. It shows our fearless leader tied up
in a solar powered electric chair, with a Sierra Club T-shirt. This ad
generated some controversy - which also bothered us a lot, so we
continued to run the ad for the remainder of that year. We considered
running a similar ad for PETA in 2004, but could not find any PETA
members willing to sit in the chair. |
