Creating Sustainable Energy and Water Access
After working with the STAR School on a full off-grid overhaul of their solar power system, Done Right Electrical took on the job of installing a solar power system for the water pump that serves both the school and the surrounding community. They approached us for help sourcing equipment for the job and went to work.
Building the System
To power the 40 hp deep well pump, a 480-volt 3-phase solar power system was built. The project included designing the system, laying out the groundwork, installing the underground conduits, pouring concrete, and installing the racking and panels. Power system equipment included:
In the end, there was enough energy to power the community water pump along with an additional makerspace for area residents to come and learn about the technologies that affect their world.
