Mobile Solar Electric a division of Northern Arizona Wind & Sun offers exclusive installation service for mobile off-grid applications. We offer fully integrated customized sustainable power systems for RVs, tiny homes and other mobile projects.

We provide turnkey solutions transforming RVs into off-grid homes on wheels. This process includes full system installation with high-power solar arrays, hybrid inverter/chargers, advanced lithium battery systems and full system wide monitoring with remote support capability.

About the Installation Process

Our installation services are performed by our internal team of engineers and technicians. The entire process from design to installation is carried out by our team.

The process starts by our team designing a custom system to suit your expectations and the limitation of your rig. In most cases, the engineer or specialist who designed your unique system will be installation project lead.

After the installation, our specialist provides a full walk through explaining exactly what each aspect of the system does and how to use and monitor the system. With most systems, it’s possible for us to provide remote technical support as the system can be monitored and configured through the cloud via network connection.

All installs take part onsite, at our location in Flagstaff, AZ. Please note our services are only for equipment purchased directly from NAWS and we typically only perform full solar system integrations.

We consider our design and installation process a craft. Very few organizations have the experience and expertise to design and install large scale mobile solutions such as we do. In fact, many of our clients didn’t even realize such a solution was even possible. We often make a dream become a reality for our clients. Our mission is to engineer and install first-class sustainable solutions that push the limits of what is commonly perceived possible in the solar industry.

Mobile Solar Application Categories

We install solar systems in a variety of mobile applications. Listed below are our most common application categories.

Fifth Wheel Solar Power Installation

Fifth Wheels often offer the most versatility in system design. With the average rig we can easily fit +1400W of solar and when we really push the limits on a highly customized project it’s even possible to get upwards of +4kW roof mounted.

Typical inverter size varies from 3000W (120V) capable of running one AC, up to applications where we’ve installed 15kW inverters capable of running a complete 50A service at 120/240V with no power limitations. Systems with 3-5kW inverters are often only 120V, while systems 8-15kW must be 120/240V.

All installations use lithium batteries, and we offer 12V, 24V or 48V systems depending on the scale, power, and energy requirements of the system. Typical systems often have about 5kWh of energy storage (500Ah @ 12V) but larger systems can have virtually unlimited capacity especially with higher battery voltages.

Class A Motorhome Solar Power Installation

Class A motorhomes are often a little more limited in system design but can be similar to Fifth Wheels. With the average rig we can easily fit +1000W of solar and when we really push the limits on a highly customized project it’s even possible to get upwards of +3kW roof mounted.

Typical inverter size varies from 3000W (120V) capable of running one AC, up to applications where we’ve installed up to 10kW inverter systems capable of running everything in the rig. Systems with 3-5kW inverters are often only 120V, while systems 10kW systems must be 120/240V.

All installations use lithium batteries, and we offer 12V and 24V systems depending on the scale, power and energy requirements of the system. We usually don’t install 48V systems in motorhomes as it’s very difficult to take advantage of alternator charging with 48V systems. Typical systems often have about 5kWh of energy storage (500Ah @ 12V) but larger systems can have virtually unlimited capacity especially with higher battery voltages.

Class C Motorhome Solar Power Installation

Class C Motorhomes are often the most limited with regards to roof space. With the average rig we can easily fit +600W of solar and when we really push the limits on a highly customized project it’s even possible to get upwards of +1500W roof mounted.

Typical inverter size is usually 3000W (120V) or 5000W (120V) which is capable of sufficiently powering a complete 30A Service.

All installations use lithium batteries, and we offer 12V and 24V systems depending on the scale, power, and energy requirements of the system. We usually don’t install 48V systems in motorhomes as it’s very difficult to take advantage of alternator charging with 48V systems. Typical systems often have about 4-5kWh of energy storage (500Ah @ 12V) but larger systems can have virtually unlimited capacity (space permitting).

Travel Trailer Solar Power Installation

Travel Trailers often offer quite a bit of possibility, with the average rig we can easily fit +600W of solar and when we really push the limits on a highly customized project it’s even possible to get upwards of +3kW roof mounted.

Typical inverter size is usually 3000W (120V) or 5000W (120V) which is capable of sufficiently powering a complete 30A Service. For rigs with a 50A we can provide 8-10kW inverters capable of running a complete 50A service at 120/240V with no power limitations (space permitting).

All installations use lithium batteries, and we offer 12V, 24V or 48V systems depending on the scale, power and energy requirements of the system. Typical systems often have about 5kWh of energy storage (500Ah @ 12V) but larger systems can have virtually unlimited battery capacity (space permitting).

Portable Solar Power Installation

Our engineers can customize a solution for nearly any application. If you need customized portable, non-permanent or mobile power solution we can design and configure it.

We provide solar arrays sized to meet daily energy demand. Inverter systems capable of providing for small 120V loads up to 100+kW three phase inverter systems capable of backing up industrial applications. We utilize lithium battery banks specified to satisfy daily needs plus desired autonomy up to ~200kWh.

Systems can be wirelessly networked, remotely monitored/controlled, and tracked around to world.
