The Victron Energy GlobalLink 520 is a cellular monitoring gateway that connects your remote solar system to VRM, Victron's free online Remote Management portal, so you can check battery state of charge, PV harvest, power consumption, and temperatures from anywhere in the world.
The 520 uses 4G LTE-M (LTE Cat-M1), a low-power cellular standard built to draw very little energy and reach existing 4G towers with wide, low-band coverage, ideal for fixed remote installations like cabins, pump stations, and telemetry sites where power budget matters and data needs are modest. Because LTE-M supports roaming and handovers, it also works in moving applications like campervans where LTE-M service is available.
Connect up to two hardwired VE.Direct devices, such as a BMV battery monitor and an MPPT solar charge controller, plus up to 10 additional Victron smart products over Bluetooth. Two digital inputs (which double as pulse counters) and a remote-controllable relay complete this monitor-and-control package.
Setup is quick over Bluetooth using the VictronConnect app, and the unit is wall mountable. A prepaid 1nce SIM is included with 5 years of connectivity, no separate data plan or SIM card to buy. An internal antenna is designed for worldwide reception, with an SMA connector for an optional external antenna when you need better signal or a vehicle install.
